Birthday party favors are a lovely way of showing appreciation to your guests for attending your party. The following all require a bit more time as opposed to a bit more money and will really show your guests – no matter what their age – how much you valued their attendance.

Homemade Sweets & Chocolates:

Chocolate flower lollipops, candy letters, chocolate shapes and similar are sure to put a smile on your guests’ faces – particularly if they are that bit younger. Try using a combination of white and milk chocolate or different coloured candy for lollipops which take less than half an hour to make and work out at only a few cents each.

Decorated Homemade Cookies & Biscuits:

Homemade cookies cost very little to make but can be really special. Try cutting them in different shapes, such as hearts, suns, flowers, or stars and if you have some extra time, pipe icing on to them or a message such as Happy Birthday. Alternatively, take a packet of biscuits from the supermarket and coat them in chocolate, decorating with sprinkles or icing.

Cupcakes:

Make a double batch of the cake mixture, pour the extra into muffin pans, and pop into small decorated boxes which you can buy or make. Decorate the fairy cakes with icing to match the birthday cake for a matching birthday favor.
